Before becoming a Deputy Chief of a major Urban fire department I have participated in assessment centers as a candidate for promotion on a number of occasions. On other occasions, I have served as an assessor in assessment centers conducted by fire/rescue departments in other cities. I have reviewed the Fire Assessment Center Training Kit and find that it is an excellent and informative Book for anyone who anticipates participating in a fire/rescue promotion process that will include an assessment center and/or an emergency scene exercise.
